Director of the Abbey Family Fund
Located ten minutes west of beautiful Charlotte, North Carolina, Belmont Abbey College is a Catholic, Benedictine school that educates a diverse student body in the liberal arts and sciences. The College, which is more than 135 years old, is known for its dedicated faculty, their excellent teaching, the personal attention that students receive, and a friendly atmosphere both inside and outside of the classroom. There is a Benedictine monastery on campus, as well as a minor basilica. This position cultivates and solicits prospects gifts to The Abbey Family Fund. The Director of the Abbey Family Fund is an ambassador and knowledgeable partner for Belmont Abbey College's presence in the community. The incumbent possesses an ability to identify, cultivate, and close gifts. Incumbent may be required to work evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prefer bachelor's degree and at least three years of experience in development or fundraising, track record of gift solicitation; excellent communication and writing skills; and an understanding of the unique and significant role of the Benedictine charism. Willing to approach role and tasks with a commitment to the mission and values of the School and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Prefer working knowledge of MS Office suite of software - Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Raisers Edge is a plus; and, experience managing development staff.
