The College invites applications for the Business Department Chair position beginning August, 2012. A PhD in Management (preferred) or a related business field is required. Executive level experience and/or previous Departmental Chair responsibilities are desirable. The Business Department Chair’s primary responsibilities include strategic planning and operational implementation as well as teaching and advising. These responsibilities encompass both the Traditional Day program as well as the Adult Degree Program. The Chair must be a strong advocate of the Abbey’s mission and ensure that it is reflected in all aspects of the department. Familiarity with and understanding of the Catholic Intellectual Tradition is desirable. In addition, the Chair must have a broad understanding of the many facets of a business enterprise as well as the rapidly changing business environment. An effective Chair will be a self starter, posses a high energy level, have excellent communication skills, and be creative in terms of identifying potential new program opportunities. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with the candidate's credentials and experience.
